Easton Royal commits to Florida, flipping from Texas

Easton Royal, a top-ranked 5-star wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class, has flipped his commitment from the University of Texas to the University of Florida. Royal, a standout at Brother Martin, had been committed to the Longhorns since November 2025.

His decision followed a visit to Gainesville during Florida’s game against Ole Miss. While LSU was also reportedly making an aggressive push for the recruit, Florida ultimately secured his commitment. Royal is highly regarded for his speed and versatility, having recorded significant yardage and touchdown totals in his high school career.

Standing approximately 6 feet tall, Royal is considered one of the nation’s premier wide receiver prospects. His connection to Florida coach Jon Sumrall, whom he knew from Sumrall’s time at Tulane, is noted as a factor in his recruitment process.
