easyJet adds seventh aircraft to Glasgow, launches three new summer routes

easyJet has placed a seventh 186‑seat Airbus A320 at its Glasgow Airport base, bringing the airline’s Scottish fleet to 17 aircraft. The new plane supports about 400 jobs, including pilots and cabin crew, and underpins the launch of three summer services to Pisa (Italy), Malta and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt).

The airline and Glasgow Airport marked the arrival with a bagpipe performance and a competition offering an easyJet holidays package. easyJet’s UK Country Manager Kevin Doyle said the expansion “supports many skilled jobs and plays a vital role in connecting Scotland to Europe and beyond,” while Glasgow Airport Managing Director Gavin Birch‑Williams called the aircraft “a significant milestone” that will boost tourism and business travel.

easyJet expects its biggest summer programme from Scotland to date, with the new routes adding choice for millions of Scottish travellers and contributing to inbound tourism and economic benefits for Glasgow and the wider region.
