EasyJet flight makes emergency landing in Rimini after engine failure

An EasyJet Airbus A319-111, traveling from Rimini to London Gatwick, was forced to make an emergency landing at Federico Fellini Airport on Wednesday afternoon following a technical failure in its left engine.

The pilot reported the engine malfunction shortly after takeoff at approximately 16:30. Following standard safety protocols, the aircraft reportedly flew for several minutes to reduce fuel weight before returning to the airport.

The emergency triggered a major mobilization of local services, including firefighters, law enforcement, five ambulances, two medical vehicles, and a rescue helicopter. All 140 passengers on board were disembarked safely and without injury. Technical investigations have been launched to determine the exact cause of the engine failure.
