easyJet introduces reusable crew meal trays across European and British fleets
easyJet is expanding the use of reusable meal trays for its crew across its entire European and British fleets. Developed in collaboration with Ecoffee Cup, these food-grade plastic trays will replace single-use cardboard packaging.
The initiative follows successful trials conducted with the airline’s Swiss fleet and at its Marrakech base. easyJet estimates that the transition will eliminate approximately 1.5 million cardboard containers annually.
This move builds upon existing sustainability measures implemented by the airline, such as the introduction of reusable cups and cutlery for crew meals in 2024. Michael Brown, Director of Cabin Services at easyJet, stated that the company is continuously seeking practical ways to reduce waste throughout its operations.
