EasyJet to end all operations at Leeds Bradford Airport by 2027

EasyJet has announced it will completely cease all flight operations at Leeds Bradford Airport by January 5, 2027. The airline stated the decision follows a comprehensive review of its network, with the intention to concentrate fleet capacity at higher-demand locations and more profitable bases within the United Kingdom.

The withdrawal will impact several European city and holiday connections, including routes to Barcelona, Paris, Belfast, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Geneva. Some routes are expected to be phased out even earlier; for instance, connections to Geneva are already unavailable for the upcoming winter season, and flights to Málaga and Palma de Mallorca may end by November 2026.

While the departure represents a significant loss of passenger capacity for the regional airport, competitors such as Jet2.com and Ryanair are expected to absorb a portion of the market share. Industry observers note that the move reflects a strict profitability strategy among European low-cost carriers facing rising operating costs and aircraft delivery constraints.
