EasyJet to roll out Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across fleet
EasyJet has finalized an agreement with SpaceX’s Starlink to introduce high-speed onboard Wi-Fi across its fleet of approximately 350 aircraft. The rollout is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, with full installation across Airbus A320 and A321 models expected to be completed by early 2028.
The connectivity service will allow passengers to stream media, browse the internet, and access real-time flight information or onboard ordering systems via personal devices. While the technology is being integrated, the airline has not yet confirmed whether the service will be free or require a fee.
This move follows similar agreements by other carriers, including Wizz Air, Lufthansa Group, and Air France. The deployment places pressure on rival Ryanair, which currently remains the only major European budget carrier without a Starlink agreement. Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has previously expressed concerns regarding passenger willingness to pay for Wi-Fi and the potential for increased fuel costs due to aerodynamic drag.
