EasyPark warns of rising phishing and QR code scams

EasyPark has issued warnings to customers in Finland and Norway regarding an increase in fraudulent activities impersonating the parking service. Scammers are utilizing SMS messages, emails, and even counterfeit QR codes placed on physical parking signs to deceive motorists.

In these phishing attempts, criminals often send messages claiming there are outstanding payments or expired credit cards, pressuring users to click links to avoid late fees or debt collection. EasyPark emphasizes that the company never requests passwords, PIN codes, or bank details via links in text messages or emails, nor does it collect parking fines through phone calls or email.

Customers are advised to verify any suspicious messages by logging directly into the official EasyPark app or website rather than clicking provided links. Additionally, motorists should be cautious of physical QR codes on parking signs that appear to be stickers or are placed in suspicious locations.
