Eav announces safety upgrades and increased train services in Campania

Pietro Diamantini, the sole administrator of Ente Autonomo Volturno (Eav), has announced a new strategic direction for the Campania-based company, which manages the Circumvesuviana, Cumana, and Circumflegrea rail lines. Following an earthquake on July 31, Eav has focused efforts on repairing two tunnels on the Flegrean line that sustained damage.

Key initiatives scheduled for September include increased investments in security and safety across trains, stations, and maintenance sites. The company also aims to increase the number of available trains by accelerating the authorization and deployment of new rolling stock.

Additionally, Eav plans to revise the service schedule on the Naples-Sorrento line between September and October to better serve commuters. Diamantini emphasized that these improvements will be supported by an infrastructural and technological overhaul, alongside a restructuring of the company’s internal organization and governance model.
