Eav worker seriously injured in Circumvesuviana electrocution

An Eav worker was seriously injured after being electrocuted while performing maintenance work near the San Giorgio a Cremano station on the Circumvesuviana railway line. The worker was rushed to the Ospedale del Mare in Naples and remains in serious condition.

The accident caused a suspension of train services on the Naples-Sorrento line between the San Giovanni and Torre del Greco stations. To mitigate the disruption, replacement bus services have been implemented to connect Naples and Torre del Greco. The situation for commuters has been further complicated by a separate Trenitalia regional train strike scheduled to last until late evening.
