eBay study reveals high driver dependency on GPS technology

A study conducted by eBay involving 2,000 British drivers highlights a significant growing dependency on GPS and navigation applications for daily driving. The research reveals that 69% of respondents have experienced difficulties when driving without digital assistance.

Common issues reported include taking wrong turns (45%), feeling stressed during the journey (31%), traveling longer distances than necessary (29%), and arriving late to destinations (25%). Furthermore, 20% of drivers admitted they do not feel confident reading traditional maps or orienting themselves using standard road signs.

The study also notes a shift in usage habits, as navigation tools are no longer reserved solely for unfamiliar routes; 21% of drivers use them for most journeys, even when they are already familiar with the path.
