Ebbsfleet United cleared to resume National League South campaign

The National League has lifted the suspension on Ebbsfleet United, allowing the club to begin its 2026-27 National League South campaign. The club's first six fixtures had been postponed following a winding-up petition issued by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) regarding unpaid liabilities.

The decision to resume competitive matches follows a takeover by new owner John O’Leary, which enabled the club to settle outstanding amounts with HMRC and pay players. The club submitted documentation to the league confirming that funds are available to clear liabilities.

Despite the lifting of the suspension, Ebbsfleet United remains subject to a player registration embargo and a suspended six-point deduction. The points deduction will be triggered if the club fails to meet specific financial or regulatory obligations. The club is scheduled to play its first match away at Walton & Hersham this Saturday.
