EBC has three finalists in Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award

Three productions from the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) have been named finalists for the 48th Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights. The nominees include two video entries from TV Brasil and one photograph from Agência Brasil.

Photographer Tomaz Silva is a finalist for his work depicting a widow mourning her husband following a lethal police operation in Rio de Janeiro’s Complexo do Alemão. TV Brasil’s Caminhos da Reportagem program is competing in the video category with two episodes: one investigating domestic slave labor and another covering the 30th anniversary of a major rural massacre in Carajás.
