EBC unveils new websites for Brazil’s Rádio Nacional and Rádio MEC

The Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) launched new digital portals for Rádio Nacional and Rádio MEC on Wednesday, June 17, at noon. The rollout is part of the celebrations for Rádio Nacional’s 90th anniversary, scheduled for September 12, and aims to modernize the public broadcasters’ online presence.

The redesigned sites, accessible at radionacional.ebc.com.br and radiomec.ebc.com.br, feature an integrated audio player that allows live and on‑demand listening while users browse news, programs, and other content. Additional improvements include dedicated videocast sections, enhanced mobile and tablet optimization, better accessibility, faster performance, and a centralized podcast hub. All historical material from the previous sites has been migrated and preserved.

EBC’s Transmedia and Portals manager Daniel Roviriego said the new platforms represent a significant step in the organization’s digital strategy, with further updates planned for the second half of the year. The initiative seeks to broaden the reach of Brazil’s public radio network and provide a more modern, user‑friendly experience for listeners across the country.
