Eben Etzebeth to miss Sharks European tour due to injury

The Sharks have confirmed that veteran lock Eben Etzebeth will miss the club’s upcoming European tour due to a lower limb injury. The 34-year-old was forced off the field during a recent match against the Stormers, appearing to be in significant discomfort.

While the club is awaiting further medical examinations to determine the exact extent of the damage, the injury follows a period of previous concussion and fitness issues for the two-time World Cup winner. The Sharks' tour includes matches in France, Wales, and Ireland.

The injury setback also impacts the Springboks, as head coach Rassie Erasmus awaits clarity on the availability of the influential forward for upcoming international fixtures. Etzebeth joins several other Sharks players on the injury list, including Makazole Mapimpi and Phepsi Buthelezi.
