Eberhofer crime series releases tenth film ‘Steckerlfischfiasko’

The tenth installment of the popular Eberhofer crime film series, ‘Steckerlfischfiasko’, is scheduled for theatrical release on August 13, 2026. The film follows village policeman Franz Eberhofer, played by Sebastian Bezzel, as he investigates a murder involving the death of a ‘Steckerlfisch’ king in Niederkaltenkirchen.

With ten novels by author Rita Falk already adapted into films since 2013, the series continues to draw on Bavarian culinary themes and local settings. The ongoing availability of source material and the consistent collaboration between Bezzel and director Ed Herzog suggest the franchise is well-positioned for future continuations.
