Eberhofer film 'Steckerlfischfiasko' premieres in Germany on August 13, 2026

The German crime‑comedy series created by author Rita Falk will return to cinemas with its tenth adaptation, “Steckerlfischfiasko”, scheduled for release on 13 August 2026. Directed by Ed Herzog, the film follows detective Franz Eberhofer and his partner Rudi Birkenberger as they investigate the murder of the local “Steckerlfisch king” at a newly built golf club in Niederkaltenkirchen.

The previous installment attracted more than 1.5 million viewers, and the new movie is promoted as a major summer‑season event for fans of the Heimat‑krimi franchise.
