Ebersgöns named ‘Dolles Dorf 2026’ in Hessischer Rundfunk competition

Ebersgöns, a district of the municipality of Butzbach, has been named ‘Dolles Dorf 2026’ during a live broadcast by Hessischer Rundfunk. The village secured the title by performing well in quiz questions, action games, and a new ‘show block’ segment evaluated by the television audience.

The final of the ‘Hessenschau’ series was held at the hr Funkhaus in Frankfurt. Ebersgöns was awarded the ‘Golden Onkel Otto’ by moderators Kate Menzyk and Jens Kölker. The other finalists included Uttershausen, which took second place, Katholisch-Willenroth in third, and Hetschbach in fourth.

The competition involved 50 eligible villages, with 28 participating in the selection process. The final stage followed a period of viewer voting on village portraits submitted by the contestants.
