Čebín senior day camp offers activities to combat isolation

A one‑day summer camp was held in the South Moravian village of Čebín for about twenty local seniors. Organized by Pavlína Drábíková, the program combined cultural and therapeutic activities such as pottery making, memory exercises, and singing. Preschool children from a nearby kindergarten assisted with the pottery, helping seniors improve hand coordination and providing intergenerational interaction. Participants said the camp helped them stay active and socially connected during the hot summer months when many tend to remain at home.

The initiative aims to reduce senior isolation, support motor and cognitive skills, and foster community ties across generations.
