Eboli approves depaving strategy to reduce urban cement
The municipality of Eboli has approved a new policy directive aimed at promoting depaving throughout the city to enhance urban greenery and soil protection. Under the direction of Prefectial Commissioner Gaetano Tufariello, the initiative seeks to reduce the presence of cement and asphalt to create cooler, healthier, and safer urban environments.
This ecological strategy will be integrated into the new Municipal Urban Plan (PUC), providing specific guidelines for both public works and private developments. Priority will be given to increasing permeable surfaces in areas such as sidewalks, school courtyards, public parking lots, and roadside spaces. These measures are intended to improve local ventilation, lower urban temperatures through evapotranspiration, and reduce the risk of flooding from rainwater.
