Italy faces multiple wildfires across various regions

Multiple regions in Italy are facing significant fire emergencies. In Tarquinia, firefighters and Aeopc volunteers are battling a large blaze in the Santa Maria area, supported by regional helicopters. This follows recent fires in the San Giorgio pine forest.

In the Amalfi Coast, a large fire broke out between Positano and Vico Equense near Santa Maria del Castello, affecting hilly terrain at 670 meters above sea level. Authorities are investigating the possibility of arson. A separate incident in Positano involved a boat catching fire offshore, though no injuries were reported thanks to local sailors.

Other notable incidents include a large fire in the coastal area of Campolongo, Eboli, which required the deployment of the “Drago” helicopter, and a fire on Monte Trippodi on the island of Ischia. The Ischia blaze occurred in difficult, steep terrain, complicating rescue efforts by the local fire department.
