Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru demands faster completion of aeronautics university

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of construction at the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in Ezza South Local Government Area. During a recent inspection, the governor noted that the project has spanned two dry seasons without meeting expected milestones.

Nwifuru directed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Amari Omaka, to increase oversight and pressure contractors to accelerate work. The governor emphasized that the specialized digital institution requires functional workshops, an apron, and an aircraft for practical training. He also ordered a review of the university’s master plan to relocate the main entrance away from the airport road to mitigate traffic congestion and safety risks.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Patrick Akatam reported that admissions are currently underway for 25 departments, with over 200 students already admitted. While construction on the permanent campus continues, academic activities are set to commence at the ICT University site.
