Ebrahim Azizi urges Iraq to resist US dictates

Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, has called upon Iraq’s Coordination Framework to prevent Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi from complying with United States dictates. This demand follows decisions regarding Iraq's participation in airspace restrictions against the Islamic Republic, which Azizi claims contradicts the will of the Iraqi people.

Azizi criticized United States strategic calculations, asserting that American military bases in the region are ineffective and that Washington will regret failing to meet Tehran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that Iran’s sovereignty over the strait is absolute and that the waterway will remain closed until Tehran’s conditions—including a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, particularly in southern Lebanon—are met.

Furthermore, Azizi warned that Iran is prepared to end any remaining United States military presence in the region if Washington continues its current trajectory, describing the situation as a ‘clash of wills’ between the two nations.
