EBRD Board of Directors conducts five-day visit to North Macedonia
Members of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are conducting a five-day visit to North Macedonia. The visit is part of a regular series of consultations with shareholder representatives.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with high-ranking government officials, including Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski. Discussions will also involve ministries responsible for energy, ecology, finance, and foreign affairs, as well as the Mayor of Skopje and representatives from the National Bank.
Beyond government meetings, the Board will engage with the business sector, civil society, and international partners. The program includes visits to private sector companies supported by the EBRD, specifically Varus and Makprogres, to review their development plans and cooperation experiences. Key topics for discussion include governance, transparency, competitiveness, EU accession, green transition, gender equality, and economic inclusion. To date, the EBRD has invested nearly EUR 3.2 billion in North Macedonia across 219 projects.
