EBRD grants €250 million green loan to NEPI Rockcastle

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has granted a €250 million green loan to NE Property BV, a subsidiary of NEPI Rockcastle. The financing is structured as a senior unsecured loan with a maturity date in August 2034.

The funds are designated for sustainable real estate investments across Central, Southern, and Eastern Europe, specifically targeting projects in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, and Hungary. These investments will focus on new developments, as well as the modernization and extension of green retail assets. To qualify, projects must meet strict environmental criteria, such as obtaining international green building certifications or demonstrating measurable improvements in energy performance and low-carbon technology.

In addition to asset investments, the project includes a multi-year professional training program for over 300 employees, covering skills in areas such as artificial intelligence. The transaction was advised by the law firm Dentons.
