Ebru Cansu reopens Gülistan Doku disappearance investigation

Ebru Cansu, the Chief Public Prosecutor of Tunceli, has gained national attention for her role in reopening the investigation into the disappearance of university student Gülistan Doku, who has been missing since January 5, 2020. Upon taking over the case, Cansu established a specialized analysis unit to deepen the investigation.

Cansu, a graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Law, previously worked as a private attorney for 13 years before transitioning to the judiciary. Her career includes roles as a public prosecutor in Istanbul and Denizli, and as the Chief Public Prosecutor in Seferihisar, Izmir. In December 2025, she was included in the first-class list of judges and prosecutors by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK).
