EC KAC fans criticize rising ticket and concession prices

Fans of the Austrian ice hockey club EC KAC are expressing concern over rising costs for tickets and concessions at the Heidi Horten-Arena in Klagenfurt. Supporters have noted that ticket prices for certain matches have reached 26 euros, a significant increase from previous decades.

Economic pressures, including rising costs for personnel, energy, and travel, are driving these increases. Because the arena has a limited seating capacity, the club must raise individual prices to cover expenses.

Additionally, the club has restructured its catering operations. EC KAC now manages the entire gastronomy area at the arena through a partnership with Kärnten aktiv Veranstaltungs- und Catering GmbH. This change allows the club to benefit directly from beverage sales, with approximately 1.10 euros from every beer sold during home games going to the club's treasury. This shift has coincided with beer prices rising from 5.20 euros to 6.50 euros, sparking criticism from fans on social media.
