Ecatepec expands tax incentives and repaves 17 streets to aid residents

The Ecatepec municipal council approved a series of fiscal incentives aimed at supporting households, businesses and property owners. Water service fees for domestic users in arrears will be reduced by 50% and for non‑domestic users by 30% for July‑September 2026. Property‑acquisition tax breaks of up to 60% will apply to small‑size homes, while businesses that start operations, open new branches or expand infrastructure can receive up to a 100% reduction on the current property tax, with additional retroactive discounts for past years ranging from 70% to 90%. The council also declared Ecatepec’s participation in the World Migratory Bird Day celebration.

Separately, mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss inaugurated the concrete‑paved rehabilitation of 17 streets in the Villas del Sol 1 neighbourhood. The 1.4‑kilometre project, executed under the “Mano a Mano” program, cost MXN 5.239 million—about MXN 11 million less than a contractor bid— and included new lighting, waste removal and drainage upgrades, directly benefiting more than 5,000 residents.
