Ecatepec Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss Repaves Streets for Over 5,000 Families

Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss inaugurated the repaving of 17 concrete‑hydraulic streets in the Villas del Sol 1 neighbourhood of Ecatepec. The works covered 1.4 km, involved 8,250 m² of pavement and cost about 5.24 million pesos, saving roughly 11 million pesos compared with private contracting. The "Mano a Mano" approach of the Cimientos de Esperanza programme provided materials from the municipality while residents supplied labour, benefitting an estimated 5,000 inhabitants.

In the Santo Tomás Chiconautla area, the mayor also opened five streets in the Las Parcelas community and seven central streets, installing 1,180 new luminarias and carrying out tree pruning, trash removal and signage work. These upgrades serve around 7,000 families. Cisneros said, "Aquí hay una gran historia comunitaria," and pledged to continue the programme, targeting more than 500 streets across Ecatepec this year.
