ECB announces England Men's central contracts for 2026-2027

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced its central contract structure for the 2026-2027 international cricket cycle. The updated system includes 30 players on full central contracts and introduces a new tier of nine England Development contracts. This expansion is intended to create a more structured pathway between county cricket and the senior international setup.

Among those securing two-year deals running through September 30, 2028, are Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Jacob Bethell, Jordan Cox, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, and Josh Tongue. Other players, including former white-ball captain Jos Buttler, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope, have received one-year deals.

Notable inclusions for the first time include wicketkeeper-batters Jordan Cox and Tom Banton. Additionally, fast bowler Brydon Carse has retained his central contract despite being absent from the England Test squad as of August 2026. The announcement also coincides with updates to the England Men's international coaching structure.
