ECDC Memmingen and FC Memmingen announce sports cooperation

ECDC Memmingen and FC Memmingen have launched a cooperation initiative aimed at fostering unity between the city's ice hockey and football clubs. The partnership seeks to move past historical rivalry to focus on shared goals, such as youth development and promoting community values.

As a pilot project, the clubs are hosting a “cooperation match day.” Under this arrangement, fans holding a ticket for one club's game can attend the other club's match for free in the standing sections. Specifically, ECDC fans attending the game against the Bietigheim Steelers can use their tickets for the FC Memmingen match against 1. FC Nürnberg II, and vice versa.

Looking ahead, club officials Andreas Minkenberg and Sven Müller expressed interest in deeper administrative integration, including the possibility of a shared business office to reduce costs and manage future challenges more effectively.
