Echizen City to host Sennin Mirai Kogei Matsuri 2026 with record exhibitors

The Sennin Mirai Kogei Matsuri 2026 is scheduled to take place on August 29 and 30 in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture. Held at venues including the Aishin Sports Arena, the festival will feature a record number of 238 exhibitors from within and outside the prefecture.

The event aims to showcase the charm of traditional handiwork through various activities, including product sales, demonstrations of craftsmanship, and 20 different workshops. Highlights include a main booth featuring 20 cutlery companies, demonstrations of knife sharpening and wood carving, and workshops for making Japanese paper (Washi).

Additionally, the festival will host a stage for traditional performances, such as paper-making songs and ancient training rituals. Food booths and kitchen cars will also be available, featuring local specialties like Echizen soba.
