Eckert & Ziegler receives GMP certificate for Actinium-225

Eckert & Ziegler Therapeutics GmbH, a subsidiary of Eckert & Ziegler SE, has received manufacturing authorization for the radioisotope Actinium-225 (Ac-225) from German authorities. The certification confirms that production meets Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, which facilitates the use of the isotope in investigational clinical treatments.

Actinium-225 is considered a highly promising alpha emitter for targeted radiopharmaceutical applications. The production process involves cyclotron-based irradiation of Radium-226 at the Czech Academy of Sciences’ Nuclear Physics Institute in Řež, followed by processing at Eckert & Ziegler’s site in Braunschweig, Germany.

Following the announcement, Eckert & Ziegler shares rose by 2.5% on the same trading day. While the regulatory milestone marks a significant step for clinical and commercial supply security, the company is also awaiting its next quarterly report scheduled for release on November 12, 2026.
