Eco Parking workers protest safety and contract issues at Arena Parking

Workers from the company Eco Parking held a sit-in at the Arena Parking lot to protest poor working conditions and safety violations. The mobilization was organized alongside the Filcams CGIL and CGIL Caltanissetta unions.

Employees, who were hired in January 2023, reported several critical issues, including being required to perform cleaning duties despite being hired as parking attendants. They also cited a lack of essential personal protective equipment, such as safety shoes and seasonal work clothing.

Safety concerns were a primary focus of the protest. Workers described the parking facility as being in a dilapidated state, lacking adequate lighting, and missing necessary fire extinguishers. Furthermore, the union highlighted contractual grievances, noting that the application of the Cisal Terziario collective agreement results in lower base pay and the absence of a 14th-month salary compared to more representative contracts.
