Eco-Schools program awards environmental recognition in Croatia and Montenegro

Educational institutions in Croatia and Montenegro are receiving recognition through the international Eco-Schools program, which promotes environmental awareness and sustainable development.

In Croatia, the Medical School Bjelovar has renewed its silver status as an International Eco-School. Since joining the program in 2017, the school has engaged in activities such as waste sorting, maintaining a school garden, and protecting biodiversity. The school's silver plaque and new green flag were accepted by coordinators Marina Antolin and Emilija Kovačević.

In Montenegro, a ceremony was held at the Parliament to award green flags, certificates, and bronze medals to educational institutions participating in the program. Dejan Đurović, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology, and Spatial Planning, noted that the program, which has operated in Montenegro since 2016, builds ecological consciousness from an early age. The event coincided with the lead-up to the anniversary of Montenegro's designation as an ecological state.
