Eco Wave Power partners with AI engineering GmbH on digital twin platform

Eco Wave Power’s US subsidiary has partnered with Germany-based AI engineering GmbH to develop a physics- and data-driven Digital Twin platform for its proprietary wave energy technology. The collaboration, titled the “Eco Wave Power – Digital Twin & Energy-Aware Computing” project, aims to integrate artificial intelligence, machine learning, and physics-based simulation into the design and operation of wave energy systems.

The first phase of the project focuses on digitally modeling the interaction between ocean waves and the company’s proprietary floaters. Utilizing AI engineering’s PAMICS simulation technology, the partners will evaluate structural loads, floater behavior, and theoretical energy input under various sea conditions. These simulations will be compared against real-world sensor data to develop machine-learning capabilities for forecasting energy yields and system loads.

A primary goal of the initiative is to create models that can be adapted to different geographic locations. This would allow Eco Wave Power to transfer engineering knowledge and operational insights more efficiently as the company expands into new markets. Both companies involved in the project are members of the NVIDIA Inception program.
