Ecobank forms strategic partnerships in Togo and Guinea
Ecobank has entered into strategic partnerships in West Africa to support key economic sectors. In Togo, the Conseil des Établissements Privés d’Enseignement Supérieur (CEPES) is collaborating with the banking group to modernize private higher education. This initiative aims to provide educational institutions with access to tailored financing, with potential investment envelopes reaching 100 million FCFA per institution to improve infrastructure, laboratories, and digital tools.
In Guinea, Ecobank Guinea has partnered with the Fonds de Garantie des Prêts aux Entreprises (FGPE) to facilitate credit access for the agricultural sector. This agreement utilizes a partial credit portfolio guarantee mechanism under the Commercial Agriculture Development Program (PDACG), which is funded by the World Bank. The partnership is designed to mitigate risk for financial institutions, allowing agricultural businesses with insufficient collateral to secure the funding necessary for production and investment.
