Ecoche fires burn 15 hectares and threaten homes in France

Two separate fires broke out on Monday afternoon in the commune of Ecoche, located in the Loire region near Chauffailles. The blazes occurred in different locations, with one fire in the Le But-La Baize area threatening residential properties before being contained by approximately 5:00 p.m.

A second fire, reportedly started by a cigarette on the D45 near Goutaillon, spread toward the Crêt Loup hamlet and threatened homes as well. In total, approximately 15 hectares of meadows and undergrowth were burned. Emergency responders utilized 118 firefighters and two helicopters to manage the situation.
