Ecoener surpasses 1 GW in assets amid international growth

Ecoener has surpassed the 1 GW milestone in assets under operation and construction. During the first half of 2026, the renewable energy company reported a 29% increase in revenue, reaching 54.2 million euros, and a 53% rise in EBITDA to nearly 30 million euros. Despite a 31% drop in net profit to approximately 3 million euros, the company saw record electricity generation of 612 GWh, a 51% increase.

This growth was primarily driven by international expansion, with foreign business accounting for 79% of total revenue. The company’s operational capacity was bolstered by seven photovoltaic plants recently commissioned in Colombia, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic, totaling 253 MW. Ecoener is also progressing with new projects, including two 200 MW solar plants in Guatemala.

In other corporate news, Audax reported a 12% decrease in adjusted net profit to 23.9 million euros for the first half of the year, despite stable revenues of 940.7 million euros. Meanwhile, Brico Depôt Iberia saw an 11% increase in sales and a 17% rise in profits, driven by strong professional segment growth. Eroski reported a 3.8% increase in sales, while Miquel y Costas experienced a 23.1% decline in profits due to energy costs and geopolitical uncertainty.
