EcoH2O Viscri wins Water Resilience prize at New European Bauhaus

The EcoH2O wastewater treatment plant in Viscri, Transylvania, has been awarded the special Water Resilience prize at the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026. The project was recognized for its ability to manage rural wastewater through sustainable, natural processes and plant-based treatment.

Developed by the Mihai Eminescu Trust, the initiative aims to protect local heritage while improving living conditions through sustainable community solutions. The project was a finalist in the category of Enhancing Circularity, Sustainability and Innovation within the NEB Champions section.
