Ecological education initiatives launched in Warsaw and Świdnica
Various ecological education initiatives are being implemented in Poland through regional and European funding.
The University of Warsaw's European Centre has received a grant of up to 129,800 PLN from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw. The project, titled ‘Ecological education in the field: Warsaw and Kampinos National Park. The European dimension’, aims to combine academic learning with direct environmental observation. It focuses on biodiversity, climate change, and sustainable development, serving students, researchers, and experts by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world environmental challenges.
In Świdnica, the ‘ekoMy’ project has concluded after providing ecological training to over 300 students across five primary schools. Funded by the European Social Fund Plus as part of the European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021–2027, the project had a total value exceeding 820,000 PLN. The program included field classes, workshops, and visits to local forestry offices to teach students about climate protection and biodiversity.
