Ecomott and GRIFFY to launch Edge AI sound detection system for construction safety
Ecomott Co., Ltd. and GRIFFY Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Toda Corporation, have announced the upcoming release of a 'Specific Sound Detection Edge AI System' for the construction industry, scheduled for September 2026.
Applying technology from GRIFFY’s 'PROLICA' AI camera, the system uses outdoor microphones to collect and analyze specific audio data in real time. This allows for the early detection of approaching emergency vehicles, even in environments where visual monitoring or standard AI cameras are obstructed by buildings or curves.
In field demonstrations conducted at Toda Corporation construction sites, the system achieved a 98% detection rate. By utilizing edge AI for immediate on-site processing, the system can automatically trigger safety equipment such as LED display boards, patrol lamps, and vehicle gates to improve safety and reduce the need for manual monitoring.
