Econergy proposes new solar plant project in Cavaglià, Italy

The Italian branch of Econergy, an Israeli renewable energy company, has proposed a new photovoltaic plant project in Cavaglià, Biella. The company, founded in Kfar Saba, has expanded its capacity significantly between 2018 and 2022, often through projects located in the West Bank and Golan Heights.

Critics, including the environmental group Tavo Burat, have raised concerns regarding the company’s operations in occupied territories. They argue that such energy projects contribute to the consolidation of control over occupied lands and the displacement of Palestinian communities. Additionally, Econergy receives financial support from Phoenix Financial, an Israeli firm that provides services to the Israeli Ministry of Defense and police.
