Ecopetrol appoints new board and announces 300 job vacancies
Ecopetrol has appointed a new Board of Directors for the 2025-2029 institutional period. Following an Extraordinary General Shareholders' Meeting on September 15, the board will consist of nine members, six of whom are new.
The new leadership faces several critical challenges, including the need to recover and strengthen oil and gas production capacity, manage declining gas availability, and address reducing crude oil reserves. The board must also oversee exploration projects, development of new reserves, and enhanced recovery strategies for mature fields. Additionally, the board will play a key role in defining the company's future presidency and strengthening corporate governance and transparency standards.
Separately, Ecopetrol has announced a recruitment drive for 300 professional internship positions across 24 cities and operational fields. The vacancies are aimed at students in their final semesters of technical, technological, or professional programs. Eligible fields include engineering, geology, data science, administration, and various disciplines related to energy transition, renewable energy, and sustainability. The application deadline is October 16.
