Ecopetrol reschedules Brava Energia takeover, auction set for Aug 5 2026
Colombian oil firm Ecopetrol, through its Brazilian subsidiary Ecopetrol Investimentos do Brasil, submitted an amended prospectus for its voluntary public takeover offer (OPA) of Brava Energia after Brazil's securities regulator CVM lifted the suspension. The revised terms keep the offer price at R$23 per share and maintain the original structure, with the auction now scheduled for 15:00 on 5 August 2026 and settlement to follow on 17 August.
The OPA seeks to acquire roughly 25 % of Brava Energia’s capital, amounting to about 116 million ordinary shares. Ecopetrol also agreed to purchase an additional block representing about 26 % of the company at R$24 per share. The amendment satisfies CVM’s remaining requirements and reflects approvals from the Brazilian competition authority CADE and debt‑holder waivers, clearing the way for the transaction to proceed pending final regulatory clearance.
