Regional cultural and environmental initiatives expand in South America

Various regional cultural and environmental initiatives are underway across South America. In Corrientes, Argentina, the 4th Ecotourism Congress of the Litoral has commenced, focusing on nature tourism, conservation, and sustainable development. Governor Juan Pablo Valdés highlighted the economic impact of the Esteros del Iberá wetlands on local communities.

In Chaco, Argentina, the 22nd International Dorado Fishing Festival is being supported by a significant security deployment of over 350 personnel and technological infrastructure from ECOM Chaco, including satellite connectivity and real-time video monitoring to ensure safety and competition oversight.

Cultural and scientific events are also being highlighted. In Entre Ríos, Argentina, the Nelson Oscar Vassallo Museum is launching a virtual lecture series titled ‘Landscapes and Memories of Deep Entre Ríos’ to discuss regional heritage and biodiversity. Meanwhile, in San Ramón, Costa Rica, the Regional Museum of the University of Costa Rica is hosting an exhibition on basketry to showcase the craft as a vital expression of cultural identity and traditional knowledge.
