ECP Director responds to postgraduate irregularity allegations

José Samayoa Lara, director of the Escuela de Ciencias Políticas (ECP), issued a clarifying note regarding allegations of irregularities within the institution's postgraduate department. The response follows a report detailing a complaint filed with the Comptroller General of Accounts (CGC) concerning a master's program.

The complaint alleges that certain International Relations students may be graduating faster than permitted by potentially bypassing established requirements. Specific concerns raised include a lack of transparency, deficiencies in coursework, and questions regarding fees and the authorization of specific master's degrees.

In his statement, Samayoa Lara maintained that management aims to improve service times within the legal and university regulatory framework. He emphasized that the completion of studies must occur through authorized modalities and proper evaluations. While the ECP did not address every specific allegation point-by-point, the director stated the institution seeks to reduce administrative obstacles and improve terminal efficiency for graduates.
