ECU Perth City campus wins major construction award

The ECU Perth City campus has won the 2026 Australian Construction Achievement Award, a major national recognition in the construction industry. The 73,000sqm development, constructed by Multiplex, transformed the Yagan Square site into Perth’s first inner-city university, designed to accommodate approximately 10,000 students and staff.

The project surpassed other major developments, including Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel and Western Sydney International Airport, to secure the award. Judges highlighted the project’s ability to manage complex engineering constraints while maintaining critical transport infrastructure.

Beyond construction, the project was noted for its socio-economic contributions. It supported 122 apprentices and trainees, directed over 95 per cent of project expenditure to Western Australian businesses, and allocated $32 million in work to Indigenous enterprises.
