Ecuador energy system modeling uses artificial intelligence
Researchers at UIDE have developed an artificial intelligence modeling system to analyze the factors affecting energy generation and exchange within Ecuador’s National Interconnected System (SNI).
The study addresses recurring energy security crises in Ecuador caused by climate phenomena and changing precipitation cycles. By utilizing a dataset spanning 2009 to 2025, the research employs machine learning to better understand the complex relationships between energy demand, water availability, and thermal capacity, which traditional predictive models often fail to explain adequately.
