Ecuador Football Federation Considers Robert Moreno as New Head Coach

Spain's Robert Moreno, 48, is being evaluated by the Ecuadorian Football Federation to become the new national team manager. Moreno previously assisted Luis Enrique at Roma, Celta de Vigo and FC Barcelona, where he was part of a staff that won the Champions League, two LaLiga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies and a Club World Cup. He briefly led the Spanish national side in 2019, guiding the team to an unbeaten Euro‑qualifying campaign before Luis Enrique returned.

After stints coaching AS Monaco, Granada and Russian side Sochi – where he achieved promotion to the top tier – Moreno is currently unattached. Known for a tactical profile and a focus on developing young players, his résumé matches the criteria the Ecuadorian federation is looking for.
