Ecuador Footballers' Union President Calls Extraordinary Assembly

Carlos Tenorio, president of the Asociación de Futbolistas del Ecuador (AFE), announced an extraordinary General Assembly to address recent criticism of the union’s management. The call follows public accusations by former international striker Walter “Mamita” Calderón, who questioned a financial agreement involving Deportivo Quito and alleged that players had not received the full $134,000 owed to them. Tenorio said the AFE will present documents and reports on its activities, defended the legality of the organization, and highlighted ongoing projects for player development. The assembly is scheduled for 28 August in Guayaquil and will be open to current and former players, as well as the media.
